  1. I was just looking at pictures of this on the Internet, and there you are posting pictures of it, just amazing. I'm so sorry your feet are not good, maybe you should try the Merrill's when you get to the next town with a sporting goods store or I could send them to you. Let me know, bad feet is no good. Saraaaa you look so burned, I snuck some sunscreen in with your toiletries, I know I sound like a mother but I am ...yours...so use it. I love the pics,it really is beautiful there. Glad you are enjoying it, bad feet and all. Talk to you soon and as always be safe. Xoxoxo love, mom

  2. Hello you two beautiful souls!

As I’ve been following your blog I want you to know that I cannot express how proud I am FOR you both.

You are creating experiences and experiencing scenes that will enrich, inspire and accompany you throughout your respective journeys through life.

Max – please, please, please remember the small stuff (i.e. moleskin). You’re doing a great job playing it safe and using good judgment (with regard to other hikers) on the trail.

Sarah – please don’t forget to draw some of the views you are witnessing. I’ve got 5 gallery frames waiting - in a pinch, birch bark makes a great alternate canvass, particularly with charcoal.

For both of your feet: pick up a few pair of liner socks ( and / or toe socks) to go underneath thicker, more cushiony socks – ask some (trustworthy) veteran hikers, about a good brand of liner socks.
You may also want to try rubbing your feet with Vaseline before putting your socks on – does make a difference. When resting, elevate your feet above your heart (prevents blood flow from aiding inflammation) and try taking an anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen. Also , good old foot massages will do wonders. Change your socks at least thrice daily.

Next hotel – pick up some Epsom salt and soak your feet.

    Sleep Well
    Travel Safe

May you never lose your lust for wandering!

    DAD
